J.B. McNabb Middle School requires that students maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA. In order to be inducted into the club, students maintaining a 3.5 GPA for two consecutive grade terms. If after any nine weeks a student's GPA falls below 3.5, he/she will be classified as on probation.  If the GPA falls below 3.5 for two consecutive nine week terms, the student will be removed from Beta club.

What if I have students that were members at another school?

Membership can be transferred to within a club in the same division i.e junior to junior, senior to senior.  A club has the right to have each transfer student meet their specific membership requirements or just accept them on the grades from the previous school.

What does the name "Beta" stand for" Is it an acronym for something?

No. Beta is not an acronym. Our founder, Dr. John W. Harris, chose the names when he founded our organization back in 1934.  Beta is the second letter of the Greek alphabet. "B" represents "bios" (the Greek word for life). Dr. Harris wanted members to learn not just how to make a living, but how to actually make a life for themselves.
